FlatJack is a mashup honoring my father, Jack, who fostered my love of wood and craftsmanship; and Jeff Brown’s Flat Stanley childrens’ book series. After a bulletin board fell on him during the night, the now flat Stanley could go anywhere just like our new furniture designs.

They are manufactured by Amish craftsmen in Holmes and Wayne counties, Ohio.

Nor is it fair for one customer to pay the regular price while another happens to catch a 10 – 50% off sale. We guarantee our prices for the calendar year so there's no need to rush – or any reason to wait—to buy what you love. From time to time, discontinued items may be offered in limited quantities at clearance prices.

Yes, you can save $200 on our inaugural five-piece dining set if you pick it up at our central Ohio warehouse (60 Anthony Drive, Newark 43055). We offer pick-up appointments all day on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays; Friday mornings; and Tuesday and Saturday afternoons (excepting holidays). Contact us at help@FlatJackUSA.com to place your order and arrange pickup. Your order will be securely packaged, but you will be responsible for any damage after it leaves our warehouse.

Your credit card will be charged at checkout for products in stock or available within 30 days. For backorders shipping in more than 30 days, your credit card will be charged 30 days before the scheduled shipment.

YES, shipping is included in our listed price! We ship to the lower 48 states and use UPS Ground exclusively. Your shipping confirmation will include a link to track your shipment.

With our inaugural dining set, you will receive a total of three packages: one  -  4.5” x 32” x 48” weighing less than 60 lbs. with your table; and two – 10” x 20” x 38 each weighing less than 30 lbs. with two chairs each.

Our packages are designed to fit through all household doors and stairways, and in the backseat of a vehicle. Please try to preserve your packaging materials for at least 30 days.

Please contact us at help@FlatJackUSA.com within 72 hours of the delivery.  Please include your order number, full name, an explanation of the damage/defect and photos of the same. Our team will contact you within three business days to make arrangements, as necessary, for repair, replacement or refund.

FlatJack is committed to making buying quality American-made hardwood furniture as hassle-free and sustainable as possible. We want you to love your new furniture so if you’re not satisfied you can return or exchange it for any reason within 30 days of delivery. Please make sure you keep your original packaging so it can be reused for your return. If you don’t have your original packaging, a $50 repackaging fee will apply. A $79 environmental impact fee will be charged per return. Please contact us at help@FlatJackUSA.com to start the return/exchange process. Returns are inspected and if in good condition refunds (less the environmental fee and possibly the repackaging fee) will be issued to the credit card used for the original purchase.

FlatJack is making furniture to keep or share with others. Our manufacturer’s warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship for one year from delivery.

FlatJack furniture is constructed exclusively with natural hardwood. Each piece is unique which may include inconsistent graining, occasional knots or color variations. Dents, scratches and dings are a part of everyday life and shows your furniture is being used. As an added bonus, we have included a professional repair kit ($20 retail value) specifically matched to your stain to repair dents, scratches and dings. However, this normal wear and tear will eventually become part of the aging surface, making the piece unique to you and your family.

Below are some pro tips:

• Use a f****** coaster! Moisture and heat can damage any wood finish. Please protect your furniture by using coasters/trivets and always wipe up moisture and spills quickly.

• Avoid dragging or dropping sharp, rough or heavy objects across the surface.

• Humidity changes will cause wood to expand and contract. Maintain consistent humidity levels to minimize movement and prevent warping. The best environment is 40 – 45% relative humidity.

• Nail polish remover will cause severe damage to your finish. 

• Candle wax can leave a stain.

• Sunlight can change the color of natural wood over time. Try to place your wood furniture out of direct sunlight. Occasionally rotate items on your wood furniture to make any color changes more uniform.

• A damp cloth is typically all you need to clean your furniture. If you want to use something more avoid products with silicone, wax solvents, abrasives or any cleaners with ammonia, alcohol or petroleum.

• For our Natural finish products, treat your furniture whenever it seems dry with Daddy Van’s all natural Furniture Polish. A complimentary can was included with your order. It is naturally non-toxic, chemical free and food safe. Use a soft cloth to rub a small amount onto the wood surface in a circular motion. Then buff to a deep glow with clean, dry cotton cloth.
